Description
Duraamen’s Anti-Skid Additive consists of specially graded aluminum oxide particles designed to be incorporated into sealers or topcoats to create a safe, slip-resistant surface. Available in four different grades—Coarse, Medium, Fine, and Superfine (240 mesh)—this additive allows for customization based on the desired texture and level of slip resistance. The typical recommended dosage is between 6 to 8 ounces per gallon of topcoat. Notably, the inclusion of the Superfine (240 mesh) grade in topcoats such as Perdure U45, U46, U90, and P72 has been shown to not only enhance slip resistance but also significantly improve the abrasion resistance of the coating. To ensure optimal performance and aesthetics, on-site mock-ups are advised prior to final selection and application.
Mixing & Application Instructions
Begin by thoroughly mixing Part A and Part B components of the chosen topcoat (e.g., Perdure U45, U46, U90, U50, or P72). Once mixed, slowly add 6 to 8 ounces of Duraamen’s Anti-Skid Additive, stirring continuously until the additive is evenly dispersed throughout the mixture. Apply the sealer or topcoat in accordance with the product’s technical data sheet. During application, intermittently stir the material in the mixing container to prevent particle settlement and ensure consistent distribution. If multiple coats are being applied, incorporate the anti-skid additive into the final coat only for best results.
